Melancholia is a bittersweet medicine. It makes you dance even though you feel like crying. You’re singing while your heart is a big bleeding lump in your throat. If music is a pill causing these emotions, then CHOO CHOO owns the recipe. The fourpiece from Bern, Switzerland mixes soulful Pop Songwriting with heartfelt Indie Rock passion. By arranging their songs with the right sense for moods, melodies and Grooves they create the soundtrack for your everyday emotional rollercoaster. Literally, that’s Indie Pop as therapy.
Early 2011 – three years after coming up with a Garage Pop Debut Album, ebullient with juvenile energy (DRS 3 Swiss Top Album in March 2008) just like that, they oresent their 2nd Album CANNES. A ten songs strong dose of melancholia fort he cold, long Winter – and the springtime after it.
CANNES – THE ALBUM
By end of Sommer 2009 CHOO CHOO backed out to fully focus on the work for their second Album. The Band had a clear vision for the Album: Let’s leave the Garage. For half a year new songs were being written and a lot of work was invested on the Band’s Sound. With producer Kalle Gustafsson CHOO CHOO found the right Producer to put their Album Vision on Tape. Gustafsson is running the one-of-kind Svenska Grammofon Studion in Göteborg, Sweden and among many others worked with Artists such as: José González (SWE), Foals (UK), und The Soundtrack of our Lives (SWE). In 30 bittercold days and nights between January and April 2010 the ten new songs for «CANNES» were being born in Göteborg. An album as multifaceted and charged with emotions as CHOO CHOO has not yet been heard before.
